DOTSON, Sarah Printy

SARAH A. PRINTY DOTSON,  daughter of William and Caroline Printy, was born in Ohio February 8, 1827.  When a child, her father moved with her to Charlestown, Clark Co., Ind., where she spent her girlhood days, her mother having died in Ohio when she was at the age of five years. She identified herself with the Methodist church at Charlestown, Ind., at the age of fifteen and kept the faith all through life. At the age of twenty  five she came to this county, staying with her uncle, William Titus, until she was united in marriage to John W. Dotson in the year of  1855, when they located on the farm where they lived until death. To this union was born six children, t5hree sons and three daughters, namely,   William W.,   Elizabeth C.,  Rhoda A.,  Benjamin F.,   Mary F., and John M., all of whom survive except William W., who died at the age of eighteen.   She  is survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also a sister, Mrs. Rhoda Drummond, of South Bend, Ind., and a half-sister Mrs. Jacob Hartman, of Otisco, Ind. She departed this life September 11, 1914, aged 87 years, 7 months and 3 days, having lived a life of patience, endurance and hopefulness.   Funeral services were held Sunday. -s
